Swan River Self Drive Trail
Take a drive along Perth's Swan River. The suburbs located along the northern banks of the Swan River, house some of the most exclusive properties in Australia. With price tags reaching phenomenal highs check out how the other half live as you enjoy a leisurely drive through the leafy and extremely pretty river suburbs of Matilda Bay, Dalkeith, Claremont, Peppermint Grove and Mosman Park and right around the river to South Perth.

Morning by the River
Start your journey from the Perth City by following the curve of the Swan River to the University of Western Australia and picturesque Matilda Bay. The blue expanse of the river dotted with splashes of colour from the sails of the yachts make this a truly special view. Enjoy a coffee or breakfast at Bayside Kitchen, right on the river's edge or at the stunning West Kitchen & Bar at the Wonil Hotel.
Scenic River Drive
Wind your way through Nedlands following the river, up past Dalkeith and along the famous 1980's 'Millionaire Row' Jutland Parade. Stop at the end of Jutland Parade where you will experience stunning views from Point Resolution Reserve. Next drive past amazing homes to the exclusive suburb of Claremont for a spot of shopping and morning tea at the Claremont Quarter.
Continue along the river past Peppermint Grove, a gorgeous area with great river views, extensive grassed areas and overhanding Peppermint trees. The houses here are truly amazing, with a diverse range of architectural styles. Journey up the hill to Mosman Park, stopping at the lookout on Bay View Terrace for sweeping views, before heading south along Stirling Hwy towards Fremantle.
Lunch with a View
Cross the bridge over the Swan River, and travel back to along the river towards the city along Canning Highway towards Applecross. Stop at Goolugatup Heathcote Reserve for more stunning river and city views (there is also a fantastic pirate-themed playground for families) and a delicious lunch at Tucci or the iconic Raffles Hotel.
Afternoon Stroll and Sunset
After lunch, cross Canning Bridge and follow the Kwinana Freeway north, and take the exit at Mill Point Road to South Perth. Take a late afternoon stroll along South Perth Foreshore, explore the shops along Angelo Street or enjoy a cocktail and snacks at The Station. You could even catch a sunset ferry across the river to Elizabeth Quay and back again! Return to Perth along the Kwinana Freeway and over the Narrows Bridge.
