Toodyay - A Valley for all Seasons.
Tranquillity, hospitality and amazing valley views make Toodyay the ideal place to stop over.
Catch your breath, rest a while or establish a base from which to explore the Avon Valley's wealth of attractions. Toodyay is situated inland in the picturesque Avon Valley region, only 80km North-East of Perth. The town's architecture reflects it's colonial and convict past, while the many nature reserves become ablaze with colour with magnificent displays of wildflowers during the wildflower season (August to November). Stay a while in Toodyay and soak up the country atmosphere at one of our many accommodation options including Bed & Breakfasts, Homesteads, Retreats, Caravan Parks and Hotels.
Explore the town by visiting boutique shops, a variety of cafes and pubs, the Avon River and Bilya Walk Track, regular annual events and Duidgee Park and Pelham Reserve. Or go further afield to discover Conservation and Nature Reserves, magnificent wildflowers (in season), local animals and produce and wineries and restaurants.
Stargazing in Toodyay
Overlooking the town, Pelham Lookout is a peaceful place to observe the stars. There are a number of walk tracks from the lookout that you could explore and find additional places to admire the sky. Pelham lookout also has parking and toilet facilities. It can be a magical experience watching the stars near the Avon River, where the sky meets the water. Year round pools such as Millard's Pool and Red Bank Pool along the Bilya Walk Track are locations where you can admire both the sky and the river.
There are also number of accommodation providers who offer stargazing experiences when you stay with them. Many have great views of the stars from the property and Pecan Hill Bed & Breakfast has a purpose built stargazing platform available for guest use.
Wildflower Season
During wildflower season a number of wildflowers can be found. These include pink everlastings, blue leschenaultia and a variety of orchids. Popular locations for wildflower spotting include Pelham Reserve, Dawn Atwell Reserve, Wongamine Reserve and Majestic Heights.
