If you're in Perth and looking for your next movie night out, you've got plenty of options to choose from. Here we've rounded up some of the best cinemas in Perth, whether you're after the latest blockbuster in a recliner or settling into a bean bag under the stars.

Hoyts Cinema Karrinyup

One of the best all-rounders for a movie night out. Hoyts Cinemas Karrinyup is located on the West Deck of the Karrinyup Shopping Centre, making it a perfect spot to grab dinner and drinks beforehand. The cinema offers an ultra comfortable movie-watching experience with spacious recliners and Dolby Atmos surround sound. To stock up on treats, the immersive candy bar also features a Ben & Jerry's ice cream station and a bar & cafe. If you want to amp up your immersive experience, we highly recommend the Xtremescreen or D-BOX motion recliner sessions. Hoyts Karrinyup also offers open captioning sessions on select films.

Its a good spot for catching the newest releases. After the movie, you can explore the shopping and dining options in the centre.

Luna Palace Cinema Leederville

For the film enthusiasts looking for something different, Luna Palace is Perth’s leading independent cinema with a wide range of arthouse, contemporary and classic film screenings. You can catch the big blockbuster films too, but we recommend regularly checking their programs to explore their specially curated film festivals, it’s a great way to discover something new – especially if you’re a fan of international cinema.

Rottnest Island Movies

The ultimate evening entertainment for the whole family when you're visiting Rottnest Island. Unwind at the end of the day with the latest release movies screened in this unique deckchair cinema. With fresh popcorn and homemade choc bombs, the heritage-listed movie hall and informal seating all come together to form a playfully nostalgic atmosphere. Not to mention, you'll find retro arcade games and a miniature golf course nearby if you're keen for a full day of activities. Add it to your next Rottnest trip.

Moonlight Cinema

Moonlight Cinema provides another exceptional outdoor movie option throughout the summer. Located at May Drive Parkland in Kings Park, it's a beautiful area surrounded by lush Australian botanic gardens. It's perfect for a picnic-style movie night, there are a few bean beds on site for hire but we recommend layering up with picnic rugs and blankets. Enjoy a film on the grass with a picnic basket of your favourite BYO food and drinks (including alcohol).
