Subi Spritz is back this autumn to immerse you in the best of Southern Europe across ten remarkable days and nights. Savour the flavours of the Mediterranean at progressive lunches, spend the afternoon sipping European wines down charming laneways, and fill your evenings learning the traditional ways of bringing to life some of Europe's most beloved dishes and drinks.
With over 25 events spanning from the 8th to the 17th of March, it’s no secret you’re spoiled for choice. We know that choosing what aspect of the European lifestyle you want to embrace may be a little difficult. To help you navigate this not-so-bad dilemma, we’ve compiled a list of ten events we think will tickle your fancy and have you longing for picturesque seaside villages and rolling vineyard-covered hills, no doubt, leaving you with itchy feet. Who doesn’t love the creamy delicious bliss that is burrata? Now is your chance to get your hands dirty in the best way possible. Learn how to craft burrata by hand, enhanced with the unique umami of Western Australian truffle honey, at a burrata masterclass workshop. Receive a glass of sparkling on arrival and sip your way through the afternoon, learning new techniques alongside award-winning Chef Caleb Azuka.
Enjoy an afternoon of vino as Dilly Dally transforms into a gathering place for wine connoisseurs. Indulge in tastings from some of Western Australia's favourite Euro-style wine makers such as Marchand & Burch, Amato Vino, LS Merchants, Skigh Wines, Vino Volta, and Wines of Merritt. Alongside this, you’ll find a menu featuring some flavour-filled Italian-style snacks and bites to try.
For this event, Subi Spritz has teamed up with Subi Night Market to bring you a family-friendly night out that’s absolutely free! An outdoor cinema will be set up beneath the stars on the lawn at Subiaco’s Market Square Park. Don’t forget to BYO picnic blanket and enjoy the range of food truck options, before sitting back and enjoying the heartwarming comedy/adventure animation set in Spain, Ferdinand.
Allow the charm of European alfresco dining to come to you as three of Subiaco’s laneways find themselves transformed, serving up the aura and taste of the Mediterranean. Subiaco favourites Bar Amelie, Dilly Dally, and The Subiaco Hotel will each be responsible for a laneway and its menu, giving you the freedom to travel down whatever culinary route your heart desires.
It’s time to indulge in the treasured Italian ritual of aperitivo! Italy’s favourite aperitif, Aperol, will be joining forces with a bunch of Subi’s favourite bars including Golden West, Little Things and Lums and Subi Hotel, serving up their take on the pre-meal cocktail. Get a taste at each participating venue along the trail!
It’s time to boogie like you're on a European summer vacation and living your best sun-kissed life. Head down to Refuge Bar where the beats of an Italo disco-themed soundtrack will have you feeling like you’re someplace far away. Sip Euro-inspired cocktails while you dance the night away!
Celebrate the oh-so-fabulous Aperol Spritz in true Italian style at Bar Banter's laneway spritz fest. The street will be transformed into a true European laneway party with food stalls and DJs bringing all the flavours and atmosphere that will have you forgetting where you are.
Take a culinary stroll through the streets of Subiaco and embark on the journey of a four-course progressive lunch across some of Subiaco's favourite venues. Juanitas, Bar Amelie, Dilly Dally, and Lums have joined forces to bring this event, which is a foodie's heaven, to life. With every carefully crafted course, be instantly transported to the eateries of Europe.
Join forces with the masters behind Perth favourite, Il Locale, and perfect the art of what we all love so much: pizza. At this hands-on masterclass, you’ll find a selection of topping ingredients to choose from so you can go as creative or traditional as your heart desires. Take in the tips, tricks, and awe of watching your doughy creation come to life.
There probably aren't many better ways to end the day than by soaking up the sunset on a rooftop terrace and enjoying the flavours of Spain. Luckily, Subi Spritz is hosting a Spanish sundowner event at Storehouse (because they hadn't already thought of everything) where you can do exactly that! Indulge in gourmet share-style Spanish tapas, with each dish encompassing the different tastes of Spain's various regions.
