Two things that Perth has in glorious abundance of are good weather and good breweries. Combine the two and you have yourself a perfect afternoon sorted.
When it comes to beer, Perth is rife with choices as more and more urban breweries have opened across Perth and the South West region. So we've rounded up our best breweries in Perth for you to explore next. Whether you're out exploring, getting the family together, or spending the afternoon sinking some beers with mates, we have you covered.
In Perth City:
Pirate Life, Perth
The Pirate Life Perth precinct is the largest brewpub in the CBD and one that knows how to stand out. With a sprawling multi-venue layout, there's a unique space to fit any mood. Head into their in-house brewery for a beer, then dig into the signature steak at the casual fine-dining restaurant TOMA. Want a more intimate affair? Try one of their two private dining rooms. Plus, they also dropped two new bars into the mix – check out CRUSH, a Palm Springs-inspired pastel oasis, and honey, their moody and broody basement rum bar. This three-storey labyrinth offers a "choose-your-own-adventure" concept, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable experience.
Bright Tank Brewing Co
Situated in East Perth, this industrial-style brewhouse is the creation of husband-and-wife duo Mathew Moore and Gemma Sampson, who have created the ultimate social space. Boasting an extensive tap selection and a kitchen powered by Brown Street Grill, they know a thing or two about good dining. Which is exactly why they're known for their monthly Beergustations. Grab yourself a long table, order up some seasonal share plates and sink into the beers.
Northbridge Brewing Co
For the classic pub vibes in a spacious three-level venue, the Northbridge Brewing Co, or 'NBC,' has found its place in the heart of Northbridge's entertainment district. Enjoy your drink with a view of the Perth City skyline on their rooftop Skydeck, or enjoy alfresco dining on the balcony, and never miss the game with their sport viewing screens throughout the venue. Sip on a wide variety of brews, plus their seasonal rotations, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with the CBD at your doorstep.
Long Neck Brewery
If a drink with a river view is what you're after, then look no further than Long Neck Brewery, Perth's only craft brewery over the water. Located at Point Fraser on the eastern edge of Perth CBD, Long Neck perches over the Swan River and offers a unique family-friendly atmosphere to unwind. Although they have parking available at their doorstep, you can go the extra mile and arrive by water as Perth's only brewery with direct boating access for small and large boats on the Swan River.
In Fremantle:
Little Creatures
Born in '99, Little Creatures brought the unfamiliarly hoppy American-style ales to WA and has maintained its place as a beloved icon of Freo ever since. The timeless appeal of delicious brews and their signature woodfired pizza by the seaside warehouse makes for a perfectly laid back experience.
Gage Roads
This iconic portside brewpub can be found in a beautifully converted 100-metre-long cargo shed overlooking the actual Gage Roads of Fremantle Harbour. The spacious venue can hold a whopping 1,500 capacity, dishing out delicious local food and pouring fresh beers for you to enjoy inside, out in the beer garden or watch the kids in the epic playground. Not to mention, it's dog-friendly.
Running with Thieves
Built with a counter-culture spirit, this industrial-style gem sits in the historic Sealanes warehouses of Freo's South Beach. Doubling as both a brewery and distillery, three copper pot stills at the heart of the bar and the stripped-back barriers allow for a real appreciation for the passion of process. Topped up with a small batch retail store and a food menu designed to be held in one hand with a drink in the other, Running With Thieves delivers on its attention to detail.
In Mandurah:
Boundary Island
Born from two local Mandurah families who were keen on the love of brewing good beer and sharing beautiful food, this small brewery launched after a spot became available on Mandurah Quay. This trophy-winning brewery is a perfect stop for breakfast lunch or dinner in a bright and airy venue overlooking Boundary Island.
Thorny Devil
For some uniquely bold craft brews and American-style barbecue, head to Thorny Devil Brewery in Lake Clifton. The brewery is an easy walk from the nearby Thrombolites in the estuary, and not far off Mandurah's hidden treasure, the "Giants." The family-friendly venue sits on a spacious five acres, has plenty of space for the kids to run around, and is a great place to relax for a good feed and a full-bodied beer.
In the Swan Valley:
Valley Social

The beverages are crafted without pasteurisation, preservatives, concentrates, sulfur, or added sugar. The vibrant space is home to an immense 18-tap bar, indoor and outdoor seating and a kitchen dishing out sophisticated, yet approachable, pub food. A great spot for a family-friendly atmosphere and dog-friendly.
