Bathers Beach
Bathers Beach is perfect for those who want to combine a beach day with some city exploring because of its central location. The calm waters make it great for families, and with the iconic Bathers Beach House right there, you can enjoy a hearty lunch and drink with your toes practically in the sand. South Beach
A popular beach for the locals, South Beach is perfect for picnics and families. The shallow water stretches far out and is perfect for cooling off and enjoying an easy swim. The water is usually calm, making it a safe option for kids. With BBQ facilities, picnic tables, and a large grassy area with tall shady trees, it’s ideal for social gatherings. Bring a picnic rug, a spread of food, and a couple of lawn games, and you can easily spend your whole day by the beach. Plus, there are plenty of cafe options nearby for your coffee fix.

Leighton Beach
Leighton Beach is one of the most picturesque beaches you'll find. Situated in North Fremantle, the fine white sands, minimal seaweed, and spacious shower and toilet facilities make this an effortless choice for a beach day. With its gentle waves and clear water, Leighton Beach is one of the best beaches to go for beginner surfers. It's also the home of Fremantle Surf Life Saving Club, so you know it's well patrolled from late September till March on the weekends. If you’re new to surfing, Perth Go Surf offers lessons, so you can catch your first wave at one of Fremantle’s best beaches. Not to mention, there's the adjoining Leighton Dog Beach on the northern end so your furry friend can enjoy the calm waters.

Port Beach
Right next to Freo Harbour's North Quay wharf facilities, Port Beach is a long stretch of white sandy shores and a great spot for swimming. It’s less crowded than some of the other beaches, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful day out. The water is calm and clear and close by to change rooms and showers. To the northern end is also an animal exercise area so your dog can join you for a beach run.

Woodman Point
For a unique combination of beach, bush and parkland, Woodman Point is perfect. This spot offers a more rugged, natural beach experience, with plenty of space to explore and bushwalks around the area. If you enjoy camping, we recommend booking a spot at Woodman Point Discovery Park. Plenty of amenities and a central location with heaps of activities. If you like diving and snorkelling, check out the underwater world at The Woodman Point Jetty (old ‘ammunitions’ jetty) which extends about 100m out from the beach. It's also a popular fishing spot.
