The Motor Museum of Western Australia has unveiled a large-scale mural commemorating key figures in the state's motoring history.

Created by Perth artist Shakey in collaboration with ArtByDestroy, and supported by RAC, the mural pays tribute to pioneers and icons who have shaped more than a century of automotive progress.

Among those featured are Ernest Hackfath, RAC Patrolman No. 4; Syd Ferguson and Francis Birtles, who completed a cross-country journey in 1912; and Maurice Brockwell, a founding force behind the museum. The mural also includes motorsport figures such as Daniel Ricciardo and Ross Dunkerton, early adventurer Marion Bell and one of Australia's foremost antique car collectors in the 60's, Percy Markham.

Painted over two weeks in extreme weather conditions, the mural spans corrugated iron panels and incorporates bold portraits set against Western Australian landscapes. The project highlights RAC’s continued support for the Motor Museum and its role in preserving the history of motoring in WA.

Located at Whiteman Park, the Motor Museum of WA houses over 200 vehicles, including Ricciardo's Red Bull RB10, and is open daily to the public.
