A refreshed 11-day journey through Southern Western Australia, including key experiences in the Avon Valley and Swan Valley.

In preparation for the City of Albany's 2026 Bicentennial "Lighting the Sound" celebrations, Great Southern Outback Tours has unveiled a revamped version of its South West Edge itinerary - the Commemorative "Lighting the Sound" Eco-Tour of Southern Western Australia (Éclairage de la Son – Éco-Tour du Sud-Ouest de l’Australie).

This enhanced 11-day eco-tour will run from 18 - 28 March 2026 and has been developed to honour Albany's bicentennial year while offering guests an immersive journey through the diverse landscapes, histories and cultural stories of Southern Western Australia. The tour explores the Wheatbelt, South East and Great Southern regions, incorporating both European settlement narratives and the deep cultural heritage of the area’s First Nations custodians.

The itinerary also features stops in the Avon Valley and Swan Valley, ensuring visitors connect with two of Perth's most cherished heritage and food-and-wine destinations as part of their extended travels.
