Experience our favourite finds in Subiaco.
Subiaco has been climbing its way up the list of trendiest places to be and for good reason. With plenty of boutique shops, chic restaurants and small bars cropping up, Subi has sprung to life. Just five kilometres northwest of the Perth CBD, Subiaco is easily accessible via the Fremantle train line or by hopping on one of the nine bus routes that run through the City, connecting Subiaco to much of the Perth metro.
With so many places opening up, we've curated our top ten highlights for your next outing to Subiaco.
Eat and Drink
Lums
Brought to you by the team behind Subiaco's much-loved Bark, comes Lums – a small bar with a glorious wine list. We definitely recommend checking Lums for your next after-work drinks. The gorgeous heritage building gives the space a cosy vibe for you to kick back and unwind with a drink in hand and one of their share plates designed to complement a good glass of vino.
Yiamas
If it's a hearty meal you're after, then Yiamas is a must-try. The word Yiamas is Greek for ‘cheers’, which perfectly describes this lively Greek-style diner. Serving up ouzo, mezedes and seafood claypots in their whitewashed Greco cottage, the menu is packed with flavour – no wonder they were crowned WA Good Food Guide’s New Restaurant of the Year.
Blacklist Coffee Roaster
For your coffee hit, there's nothing quite like Blacklist Coffee Roaster. Ideal for a takeaway order of your usual choice, but for the serious coffee drinker: this place does not mess around with their blends and single origin selections. With dedication to coffee as an experience as well as a concept, it is the degustation equivalent of the coffee space – all while still being approachable and accessible.
Spirit of Little Things Gin Distillery
For a glass of handcrafted artisan gin made locally in Subiaco, Spirit of Little Things is a superb urban distillery with their copper tanks on full display. As it is a fully functional distillery, it's closed Monday to Wednesday, so be sure to pop in from Thursday to Saturday when they open their doors to the public. Better yet, book a Gin Masterclass for the full experience. You'll get a range of tastings paired with tonic and garnishes, served with gourmet platters as you learn about the small batch distilling process. Guaranteed inspiration for your own cocktail blend.
