With endless white beaches, it’s no surprise that Perth’s Sunset Coast has so many eateries that pair delicious menus with stunning ocean views.

The northern suburbs are brimming with relaxing restaurants, cool cafés, and all-day eateries. So, why not enjoy a beachside brunch, coffee and coast walk, or dinner by dusk? Hop in the car and take a cruise from Scarborough, all the way up to Alkimos, and be sure to stop by a few of these sizzling summer spots.

The Beach House, Jindalee

The Beach House brings its hospitality A-game to the outer northern suburbs. If you don’t live nearby, let me tell you, it’s well worth a drive. Its floor-to-ceiling windows give you a prime sea view, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This classy little spot, with a very chef-y menu, is a welcome surprise overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Swell Mullaloo

Home to one of Perth’s most popular beaches, Swell Mullaloo takes you (almost) right onto its white sands. The eatery, found within the surf club, is about as close to the water as you can get, without having to get sandy! Swell is busy right through the day, and well into the evenings.

La Capannina Italian Restaurant, Scarborough

Insane views, paired with a share-able Mediterranean menu make La Capannina a go-to for date night in Scarborough. Found just above the Scarborough Beach Pool, there’s a focus on good wine, and fresh Italian dishes. Here’s a top tip - check that weather app and book a balcony table just before sunset.

Oceans 27, Alkimos

This laid-back eatery not only has Indian Ocean views, but an eerie shipwreck poking out from the waves! Known for epic cocktails and seafood platters, Oceans 27 has plenty of outdoor tables to soak up the sun. The incredible Treasure Island-themed playground next door, makes the Alkimos spot a great family-friendly lunch destination.

Sistas Burns Beach

A northern suburbs institution, Sistas Burns Beach is all about lazy breakfasts and not-so-lazy walks along the hilly coastal path! The brunch game is strong at this popular spot. Best of all, four-pawed pals are welcome in the outdoor dining area too.

Luna n Soul, Quinns Rocks

A relative newcomer to the Sunset Coast, Luna n Soul is a neighbourhood coffee gem that’s right on the beach! There are plenty of outside tables to grab and enjoy a hearty breakfast, wet hair and all, after a morning swim.

The Breakwater, Hillarys

If you’re a boat-watcher, pull up a stool for a pint at this Hillarys Boat Harbour stalwart. Craving something a little bit fancy? Head upstairs to The Breakwater’s award-winning restaurant, Ishka. This classy little spot is the place to enjoy elevated waterside dining, and high tea by the sea at Hillarys Boat Harbour.

There are so many things to love about the waterside Mindarie Marina, and Sistas is just one of them! From the legends behind Sistas Burns Beach, this popular spot has brought the same good vibes, quality coffee and delicious dishes to Mindarie Marina.

Knead Bread & Coffee, Scarborough  

If you like to keep your coastal trips low-key, but high-quality, head straight to Knead! This Scarborough bakery brings all the fresh bakes, and a top-notch takeaway coffee to boot. Perfect for enjoying whilst sat on the rolling grassy greens of Scarborough’s beach precinct.

Hillarys Beach Club

Sip cocktails on the balcony at this brand new spot along the Sunset Coast. Peering over the dunes at Pinnaroo Point, Hillarys Beach Club promises all the coastal vibes. Choose between “The Heart” a Euro-style gastropub upstairs, the casual “Bar Cicchetti” downstairs, plus a coffee window for the early birds.

Choose your own adventure at this double beachside venue! Book a table at Island Market for on trend Middle Eastern bites. Or casually slide into a seat (with sandy feet) at Canteen. Super fresh poke bowls and fast fish and chips make Canteen a popular spot throughout the day.
