Yanchep Lavender Farm

This fun family day out starts at the Yanchep Lavender Farm. While lavender is only in full bloom from December to February, the Yanchep Lavender Farm is worthwhile visiting all year round - especially now their beautiful new cafe and gift shop are open! The cafe is divine and overlooks the lavender field, a large grassed area for the kids to run about, and a new playground currently under construction.

The cafe sells a great variety of food and drinks – a favourite is their lavender-flavoured ice cream, milkshakes and high tea! The Yanchep Lavender Farm is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30am - 6.30pm.

Yanchep National Park

The next stop is Yanchep National Park (entry fees apply) where you can choose your own adventure from Treetop Adventures and cave exploring to walking trails and wildlife spotting. Follow the Wetlands Walk Trail, an easy 2km trail through the natural sights of the National Park. The trail has returned to its former glory after the devastating bushfires in 2019.

By late afternoon the grounds of Yanchep National Park buzz with wild kangaroos - nothing beats watching wildlife enjoying their natural environment. Before leaving, make sure to also check out the koalas. Yanchep National Park is perfect for picnics and BBQs. You can grab ice creams, coffee and handmade chocolates from Chocolate Drops or a meal from the Yanchep Inn.

The Beach House

Next, enjoy dinner at The Beach House's beachside pop-up beer garden, The Cubby House. You'll love the chilled family-friendly vibe of The Cubby House. There are picnic tables, rugs, umbrellas and lawn games to keep the kids entertained, plus the Eden Beach Foreshore Playground is within eyesight.

The Cubby House has a great burger menu, and kids meals are only $15. After a big day out, it was great to chill with a cold beer, enjoying the live music while the kids played. The Cubby House is open every Friday (12pm - 8pm), Saturday & Sunday (9am - 8pm) from December to April. With live music every Saturday and Sunday from 3pm - 6pm.
