Sittella Winey senior winemaker Yuri Berns has been named a finalist in the 2026 Young Gun of Wine Awards, which recognise emerging and innovative winemakers from across Australia.
Based in the Swan Valley, Berns oversees Sittella Wines' sparkling wine program alongside a portfolio of still wines sourced from regions including the Swan Valley, Margaret River and Pemberton. His work includes the traditional-method sparkling wine Grand Vintage 'Marie Christien Lugten' as well as a focus on climate-adapted varietals including albariño, touriga nacional, graciano and tempranillo.
The Young Gun of Wine Awards celebrate Australia's next generation of winemakers, with public voting open for the People's Choice Award.
