Ocean Master, the newest vessel in the Rottnest Fast Ferries fleet, is set to begin her first full season of services to Rottnest Island from Friday 5 December.
The 32-metre, purpose-built catamaran joined operations late last year after arriving at Hillarys Boat Harbour, offering space for 400 passengers, large cargo areas and room for bikes on the bow. Designed by Incat Crowther and built by Austal Australasia, Ocean Master is the first custom-built vessel to enter Rottnest service in 25 years.
The ferry features modern stabilisation technology to improve ride comfort and will operate alongside sister vessel Harbour Master during the peak travel period. Ocean Master recently completed her first whale watching season with Whale Watching Perth, recording a 20% increase in passenger numbers thanks to expansive viewing decks, a stepped design and the introduction of early morning departures.
With the vessel now fully integrated into the Rottnest Fast Ferries fleet, Pinnacle Travel Group continues to strengthen transport options for visitors travelling to Rottnest Island, located 19km off the Perth coastline. For more information read the full media release.
