RAC Arena has been certified as a 'Green Venue' under Green Music Australia's sustainability program, becoming the first venue in Western Australia to receive the recognition.
The venue achieved a four-star rating, equal to the current top-ranked venue ICC Sydney, following assessment across areas including energy, waste, water, food and procurement.
The certification recognises RAC Arena’s sustainability initiatives, including a comprehensive waste management roadmap developed in partnership with WRITE Solutions. Recent data shows the venue is diverting more than 98% of waste from landfill by volume, exceeding its 70% target. Additional initiatives include the introduction of compostable packaging, organic waste collection, reusable stack cups and participation in the Containers for Change program.
The Green Venue Certification program, launched in 2025, aims to support and recognise venues implementing environmentally responsible practices. RAC Arena’s achievement highlights its ongoing focus on reducing environmental impact within Western Australia’s live entertainment sector.
