The Shire of Victoria Plains, in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), will inaugurate the New Norcia 3 (NNO3) deep-space antenna on October 4, 2025.
This $80 million project enhances communication for space missions and aligns with the State Government's Made in WA Plan, driving technological innovation and creating jobs.
The expanded New Norcia facility will be accessible to the public, including tourists, promoting educational opportunities and strengthening community ties. The event will feature site improvements to ensure a memorable visitor experience.
The Shire acknowledge the cultural importance of the night skies to the Yued people, the First Nations custodians of the land, and their rich astronomical traditions.
