Conditions of Membership with PRTO

  • Under the Rule 5 (see below) of Perth Region Tourism Organisation Inc. (PRTO), persons or bodies corporate who own a tourism business or tourism service that operates within the Perth Region, as defined in Rule 2 (see below) are eligible to apply for membership of PRTO.
  • It is the owner of the business that becomes the member. The owner may be a sole proprietor, partnership, company, trustee for a trust or other incorporated body (eg local government or government department). If the owner is not a sole proprietor, please nominate a natural person authorised by the owner to act for the owner in contact dealings with PRTO.
  • An application for membership by an owner rather than a sole proprietor must authorise and nominate a natural person who will act on behalf of the member when dealing with PRTO. The owner may change its nominated natural person at any time by notifying PRTO in writing.
  • Applications for membership received by the CEO of PRTO will be tabled at the next board meeting and will be proposed at that meeting for acceptance as a member. However, the Board reserves the right to modify this procedure at any time.
  • Attendance at an AGM is not compulsory. Proxy voting for sole proprietors is not permitted under the rules of the PRTO.
  • From July 1 2021, all memberships are on a financial year, pro-rata basis. Towards the end of each financial year, membership will automatically be renewed and an invoice for the membership fee issued, unless prior notification to cancel your membership has been received in writing. Payment will be required within 21 days of invoice issue or your membership will be cancelled. Invoice terms are strictly 21 days, late payments may incur an administration fee.
