If you are visiting Mandurah and looking for a creative experience, go and paint with the Mandurah Plein Air Artists (Inc).

This friendly group of plein air painters meet every Tuesday morning to paint somewhere in the great outdoors. All skill levels and mediums are welcome and each paint out is often followed by a social coffee and an arty chat.

Plein air is a French expression which means "in the open air". Plein air artists seek the quality of natural light and atmosphere outdoors and their work is in direct response to the beauty they find in nature. A variety of mediums are used, from oils through to watercolours and pastels.

There is no cost to participate, just BYO painting materials and equipment. Visit the Mandurah Plein Air Artists Facebook Group for weekly events and locations.

If you like plein air painting, you won't want to miss Mandurah's upcoming outdoor painting festival, Plein Air Down Under on 25, 26 and 27 September.
