Continuing their pursuit of funky flavours, the brothers behind Caversham’s funk cider house, Dustin and Martin Michael, have opened the doors to a second venue in the Swan Valley – funk 2.0.
Described as a fermentation playground, visitors to funk 2.0 can discover a new-world approach to beer and cider. All creations are unpasteurised, as well as preservative, concentrate and sulphur-free, with no added sugar.
The vibrant new space features indoor and outdoor seating with a bar fitted out with WA’s longest beer tap. 18 taps serve up a healthy rotation of ciders, beers and project hybrids offering plenty of experimental limited-edition flavours to sample on your next visit.
The funk 2.0 kitchen boasts sophisticated, yet approachable, pub food, designed by chef Cole Hall, to be matched perfectly with funk’s beverages. Expect hearty plates including cauliflower fried in cider batter with chilli and spring onions or the sirloin served in cider jus, along with cider poached pair among their sweet selection. The majority of dishes are gluten-free with vegan/vegetarian options available.
Kids and dogs are welcome to join and enjoy the big lawn area and the shaded deck under the big umbrella tree.
